Nike’s latest addition from partner Retail Prodigy Group is a three-storey flagship execution on the lucrative George St precinct in Sydney’s CBD. ACRD were excited to once again work alongside their long-time client for this store, and grasped the opportunity in this historic location of peeling back the existing fit-out to capture the rawness and heritage of the building. The existing building envelope was complimented by the addition of finishes from Nike’s store concept to create a truly world class environment. A large amount of digital content is scattered throughout the store in key locations, with other highlights including feature timber wall cladding and bespoke brand lockup behind the main POS counter, exposed sandstone block and sandblasted brickwork walls, localised wall artwork, and organic stairwell treatment.

The customer journey offers something unique to the consumer on each level, all linked together with a dynamic spiral staircase. The ground floor is dedicated to Men’s running and training and the fit-out takes on a real performance feel, Level 1 is designated entirely to women and is presented in a light filled and softer feminine environment, while lastly the basement takes on a raw and urban aesthetic to house sportswear, basketball and the Jordan brand range. Alongside the premium product assortment, additional services such as dedicated bra fitting, pant hemming, trial running treadmills, and sneaker cleaning and protection services all combine to create the most premium shopping experience for the Nike customer. With a real focus on best expression throughout the design process, this store is an elevated showcase for everything Nike retail where the visual and product presentation pop against the raw elements and finishes of the build.
